Captain Jack Sparrow

This handsome green Parakeet was in a tree in a yard eating from the bird feeder! And…cold! Parakeets are social tropical birds needing a warm and humid climate… poor guy.

Captain Jack is such a sweet guy, it is obvious he has been well cared for. He needs a family to love and care for him.

He is friendly, but isn’t used to being handled yet. He SINGS, SINGS, SINGS! He calls to you, and reacts to you – very smart and social!

Captain Jack needs at least one other Parakeet to live with him – Parakeets are used to being in social groups, and need friends.

Because Captain Jack is a young adult male, he needs a male friend unless his new family is familiar with mating Parakeets.

Bird lovers know that birds need to be able to fly.

He is currently enjoying a 5.5′ x 4′ “Flight” cage for birds. He would like the opportunity to fly around either a room or the house/apartment in his new home.

We have been feeding Captain Jack a top Organic brand of mixed seeds and providing fresh chopped Parakeet-approved vegetables and fruits every morning. We exchange out kale, lettuce, spinach leaves and spray millet to hang in his “home” to munch on to help promote his foraging instincts.

Spray baths are appreciated by Captain Jack weekly.

He needs to be in a place where he can get some dirt sunlight in addition to indirect sunlight each day.

Parakeets are delightful companion pets! Captain Jack sings most of the day, so there is almost always MUSIC in your home!
